About the Friends
The Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities (FWCSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to identifying and funding programs and amenities for the Center. Our primary purpose is to support the Westport Center for Senior Activities’ mission of providing an activity-based “home away from home” for our senior community.

...your hard work is worth it. You are helping seniors to enjoy their 'retirement' years while learning and growing. I speak for so many friends that write, paint, exercise and attend the talks at our wonderful WCSA. We are not just living but are thriving. What fun you provide. -Quote from a Center participant.
The Westport Center for Senior Activities (WCSA) originated in the Bedford Room of the Westport/Weston YMCA in its downtown location back in 1973. The WCSA operated primarily as a drop-in center. In 1985, the WCSA outgrew its space and moved to the vacant Greens Farms School. When the Greens Farms School was reclaimed in 1998 for school purposes, the WCSA moved to a temporary location in Staples High School.
In 2004, the town’s efforts to establish a permanent facility became a reality. The current building was built on the Baron’s South property, 21 Imperial Avenue. In 2018 enhancements and expansion of the Center included upgrades, additional program and meeting space, a state of the art fitness room, additional parking spaces and many amenities.
Today, the Center is a well-respected facility and is looked upon by other communities and professionals as the model for a successful and thriving senior center. The WCSA is a hub of activity with over 2,500 participants 60+ years of age.
